Bluebonnet Acres is based in Springtown, Texas just 30 miles northwest of Fort Worth. Bluebonnet Acres began in 2004 with the goal of raising pygmy goats that are easy kidders with correct structure with the emphasis on breed quality rather than quantity.

Over the years we have grown our herd and enjoyed attending numerous shows around the country. Our goats have placed well in all Pygmy & Mini Silky classes for their age and type and we are proud to offer quality goats that can be the foundation for the next generation herds.

The Pygmy Goat hails from North Africa where it is instrumental in the livelihood of the people of that region. They were utilized in their native area for both meat and milk . Due to their small size, they do not require a large pasture and are easy keepers. For that reason, they are considered an ideal animal for small farms. Here in the United States, they are often found utilized as pets, but they have a rich, high butterfat milk content that can be used to make soap and beauty products.

Mini Silky Fainting Goats were developed here in the United States by several east coast goat breeders. The original goats used to develop this special breed were Tennessee goats and Nigerian Dwarf goats. The breed should have dairy characteristics with long, luxurious, silky hair coat. These goats were developed to be companions for their owners.
